The Housing Development Agency (HDA) has been extremely busy with state land assembly processes – identifying state land, undertaking feasibility studies, commissioning valuations, preparing development plans and meeting state departments.
The HDA with the Eastern Province and Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, are producing and distributing a monthly community newsletter to Zanemvula affected communities to keep communities informed about project progress and important events.
Bosco Khoza, HDA operations manager for the N2 Gateway, made a presentation at the Vision 2030 Indaba about managing public participation in human settlements projects. He provided comparative experiences of the Joe Slovo and Boys Town projects within the context of the N2 Gateway.
The Limpopo Implementation Protocol has been signed. In order to maintain the momentum started by our visit to the province in July, several months ago the HDA team started on development work prior to the signing off of the operational plan.
The National Department of Human Settlements (NDHS) visited the N2 Gateway and Zanemvula Section 29 projects of the HDA. The purpose of the visit was to share project progress, challenges, lessons and experiences, as well as to show the HDA’s role in implementing and managing these large-scale projects.
