HDA takes part at the GCIS Government Exhibition Day, at Mafikeng, North West

Background: Scores of citizens flogged to the Government exhibition that took place on Friday, 28 June at one of the busy malls in North West Province, Mahikeng. This is part of government’s initiatives to take service delivery to the residents of Mafikeng. The purpose of the event was to bring together government departments and stakeholders to highlight and offer necessary services and programs to the public.

This activation, where the HDA took part in, was part of the annual activations that was organised by The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) in the Northwest province. This is one of the biggest government exhibition that saw many citizens being informed about the work that government is doing across the country as well as receiving on the move services. It was graced by the presence of the newly appointed MEC responsible for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs in North West Province, Mr Gaoage Oageng Molapisi.

Since 2015, the Government Exhibition Days have been an annual event. Through these days, more than 5,000 people have benefited from government support, services, and assistance. Numerous departments and stakeholders, including Human Settlements, Home Affairs, Social Development, SARS, and Health, have contributed to the provision of these services.

Benefit: The HDA’s presence at the event was an significant initiative in strengthening relations with provincial stakeholders and networking with other government departments while serving the communities. In the region, the HDA has an urgent need to market itself as a capable organ of state that can assist the province and local municipalities with various human settlements related services.

It became clear that many people are unaware of the significant work that government is doing across the country. For the first time, The HDA was marketed by GCIS as a key partner in empowering the communities with providing information opportunities.
