Outcome 8 is the short hand reference to the delivery agreement signed in 2009 between the President and the Minister of Human Settlements, in terms of that agreement the HDA was required to deliver 6250 hectares of state-owned land.
The HDA, together with the Free State Department of Human Settlements, is developing the Human Settlements Strategy that will guide the longer-term spatial investments perspective for the province.
The HDA, in partnership with the National Upgrading Support Project (NUSP) technical team and Free State Department of Human Settlements, jointly hosted a two-day capacity-building workshop in Bloemfontein on 25 and 26 March 2014.
Officials, politicians, non-governmental organisations and academics from across the country gathered at the Newtown Turbine Hall on 5 and 6 March to discuss themes and demonstrate projects relating to the concept of Spatial Transformation in our Cities, an event hosted by the South African Cities Network (SACN), the City of Johannesburg and the Johannesburg Development Agency.
As part of HDA’s medium-term operational plan (MTOP) with the Free State provincial Department of Human Settlements, the Agency is assisting with its informal-settlement upgrading programme.
