Programme Director allow me to pass my salutations to:
My Colleagues in Exco, all fellow staff members of the HDA:
Most importantly, our young members of the HDA family.
Compatriots,
It is now just over 100 days since the first case of coronavirus was identified in South Africa.
For 100 days we have been living in the shadow of one of the greatest threats to global health in over 100 years.
The disease, and the measures we have taken to fight it, have caused massive disruption in the lives of our people, bringing our economy to a standstill and threatening the livelihoods of millions.
More than 1500 families are being moved into their new homes during this winter as part of the dedensification programme administered by the Housing Development Agency (HDA) on behalf of the Gauteng provincial department and the City of Merafong Merafong. This forms part of the national Mining Towns Programme placed under the auspices of the HDA by the national Department of Human Settlements.
The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) notes with concern the wanton and unwarranted incidents of burning of water tanks which took place yesterday, 09 June 2020, at Driziek 3 in Orange farm, South Johannesburg.
