The Agency has been appointed as Implementing Agent for Assessment and Planning of the Snake Park informal settlement.

The Agency has been working closely with the Sol Plaatjie Local Municipality and the Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, and has commenced with town planning, the geotechnical investigation, due diligence and a floodline survey.
Snake Park informal settlement is part of the National Upgrading Support Programme (NUSP).
The HDA team, together with the partners, had their first community meeting on 22 July; the community was delighted about the news of the planned upgrading of its township, and especially that it will receive basic services.
The Agency also hosted an informal settlement partners workshop in March 2014. The workshop presented findings on comparative analysis reports and on key themes across all informal settlements where enumerations were concluded.
