COVID 19_Notice 1

Dear Stakeholder

On Sunday, 15 March 2020, the State President declared National State of Disaster due to the spread of the COVID 19 (coronavirus disease) in our country. On 23 March 2020, he further addressed the nation and announced that:

“…the National Coronavirus Command Council has decided to enforce a nation-wide lockdown with effect from midnight on Thursday 26 March 2020”.

This will be effective until 16 April 2020. These measures were taken to effectively curb the increasing infection rate of the coronavirus disease in our country.

The implication of this is that all HDA offices will be closed as of 26 March 2020 and HDA staff will be working from home.

We realise the importance of providing services to our beneficiaries (especially those living in informal settlements) with the support they require. This remains our pivotal goal during this time.

Thus, the HDA introduced and implemented various measures to ensure that it aligns with the standard government practices and guidelines provided by the Department of Public Safety and Administration’s (State of Disaster guidelines Circular no 7 of 2020).

Therefore, we have put in place the some of the following measures to ensure that our services will continue during this period:

· It is requested that everyone maintains a high standard of hygienic and healthy work practises.

· Meetings (if they must take place) will be minimised and tools such as skype, teleconferencing, cell phone conference calls, video conferencing and email will be utilised.

· You will be kept, as much as possible, up to date with changes as they occur (This includes information such as a special notices that will be announced regarding the SCM process). Please keep checking our website.

· Please note, if a person is tested positive for the infection by COVID 19 virus, they must report the matter to the Department of Health and comply to the applicable conditions of isolation.

You are encouraged to keep checking our website and social media platforms for updates as developments occurs.
