As part of the drive by the new Minister of Human Settlements to eradicate the bucket system, the Department of Human Settlements officially appointed the HDA as the implementing agent for the bucket eradication programme in the Western Cape.
There is a backlog of more than 32 000 sanitation buckets in the province, with the majority being within the City of Cape Town.
The DHS has officially approved the HDA’s dedicated project implementation methodology for bucket eradication, and the Agency is proud to have been chosen as a preferred implementing agent.
