The HDA, in collaboration with the Nkangala District Municipality, hosted a workshop targeting its local municipalities – including mining towns – in Mpumalanga Province on 12 February.
The workshop focused on the HDA’s service offerings and was geared towards fostering associations between the HDA and the municipalities (Steve Tshwete, Emalahleni, Emakhazeni, Dr JS Moroka, Victor Khanye and Thembisile Hani in the Nkangala District).
The HDA gave presentations about its services, focusing on inter-governmental relations, land assembly, programme/project management support, informal settlements and land geo-spatial services.
The district municipality expressed its appreciation and called on the local municipalities to provide the agency with the requested information as related to (1) their land needs and (2) informal settlements challenges. The district also undertook to secure an opportunity for the agency to visit the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.
