The HDA signed an Implementation Protocol (IP) with the Northern Cape government on 22 August 2012, which enables the Agency to provide land assembly and project management support to the province.
The IP was signed by our CEO, Taffy Adler, and Mr BS Lenkoe, acting Head of Department for the Northern Cape Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs. The protocol enables the Agency to provide land assembly and project management support to the Department.
Our work in the province to date has mainly been around informal settlement upgrading support. A NUSP forum has been established with the participation of eight municipalities, a programme plan has been developed for informal settlement upgrading, and a strategy development process has been initiated. This work, and other work and activities, will now be formalised into a Medium-Term Operational Plan (MTOP).
