Outcome 8 is the short hand reference to the delivery agreement signed in 2009 between the President and the Minister of Human Settlements, in terms of that agreement the HDA was required to deliver 6250 hectares of state-owned land.
The HDA is proud to announce that the Agency has acquired and/ or released a total of 8895.7023 hectares of state-owned land for human settlement development over the past five years – this exceeds the total target by 2645.7023 hectares.
Provinces where we facilitated the release of state-owned for human settlement development are the Eastern Cape with 1072.4655 hectares, Free State with 1173.89 hectares, Gauteng with 752.8900, KwaZulu-Natal with 318.3801 hectares, Limpopo with 217.3289, and the North West with 5358.7126.
The table below provides a breakdown of land acquired per municipality, as well as an indicative calculation of possible yield per property (both lowest possible and highest possible densities). The HDA will be keeping tabs on the development for these properties and will keep stakeholders informed of the developments when they take place.
