The Limpopo Implementation Protocol has been signed. In order to maintain the momentum started by our visit to the province in July, several months ago the HDA team started on development work prior to the signing off of the operational plan.
The plan has now been signed off, and the draft annual performance plan for this financial year has been submitted for approval. The first HDA team monthly meeting was held in September, and a steering committee has been set up with the province and the HDA.
The first quarterly meeting will take place in October. Work has commenced on informal settlements, land assembly, project pipeline (Bendor and BelaBela), as well as spatial trend analyses. Space has been allocated in the Department of Human Settlements building in Polokwane. This will be converted into offices for our new project office, and recruitment is currently taking place for the programme.
