The National Department of Human Settlements (NDHS) visited the N2 Gateway and Zanemvula Section 29 projects of the HDA. The purpose of the visit was to share project progress, challenges, lessons and experiences, as well as to show the HDA’s role in implementing and managing these large-scale projects.
A full day was spent on each project, starting with the HDA internal management team presenting lessons and experiences, followed by a tour of the various project sites.
The NDHS were very positive about the work on the ground, and commented on the competence and professionalism of the project teams, as well as delivery and quality on the project sites. The department asked many questions, mainly around clarity on financial matters and systems.
The outcome of the visits is that the NDHS now has a better understanding of the HDA’s role and adding value to these projects – more especially on our quarterly reporting.
