HDA CEO Taffy Adler was invited to speak at the annual general meeting (AGM) of Shelter Afrique (www.shelterafrique.org) in Chad earlier in the month.
The HDA has already been hard at work with Mpumalanga’s Mbombela Local Municipality in the first quarter. The HDA hosted the Mbombela team on 7 May 2013 to talk about our services and the land assembly programme.
The Free State HDA office conducted a provincial roadshow from 3 to 7 June and travelled throughout the province, hosting workshops with all municipalities. The purpose of the roadshow was to provide information about the Agency’s services being provided in the province.
Fifty youths helped build over 30 homes for destitute beneficiaries over the past month in a project aimed at skills development in Chatty, Port Elizabeth. Volunteers, aged 18 to 35, were involved in the Youth Build project that forms part of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) skills development training programme.
As part of the Zanemvula project, the servicing of 4 040 sites in the western area of Joe Slovo township in Nelson Mandela Bay has commenced and will result in 3 977 new homes being built.
